Open rate

Open rate is the share of delivered emails that subscribers opened. It's a rough signal of subject line strength and list health, not a precise count.

Open rate measures how many delivered emails were opened, expressed as a percentage. A newsletter sent to 1,000 readers and opened by 450 has a 45% open rate.

Treat it as a trend, not a truth. Privacy features like Apple's Mail Privacy Protection inflate opens, so the direction over time matters more than any single number.
