Search intent
Search intent is the goal behind a query: to learn, to find a site, to compare, or to buy. Pages that match intent rank; pages that miss it don't.
Every search has a purpose. 'What is a welcome sequence' wants a definition; 'best newsletter platform' wants a comparison. Search engines rank pages that satisfy the purpose, not just match the words.
Before writing for a keyword, look at what already ranks. The format of the results, whether guides, lists, or tools, tells you what intent the engine believes the query carries.
Know the words.
